I began my recruitment career in March 2011, joining a boutique
recruitment firm in London specialising in finance and accounting. Working directly within the Financial Services industry, I developed a strong network of candidates and clients across diverse sectors, including retail and investment banking, investment management, brokerages, and exchanges.
In January 2016, I advanced my career by moving to Australia to establish and launch the firm’s Sydney office. This exciting opportunity allowed me to build an entirely new branch from the ground up, significantly contributing to the company’s global expansion. During this period, my focus was on Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), recruitment across all facets of Financial Services.
In 2023, driven by my passion for connecting talent and businesses, I founded Avidity Recruitment, specialising in GRC and Cybersecurity. Concurrently, I joined SSR Personnel—a global security recruitment firm —as a Director, where I successfully launched and continue to lead their Australian operations. My deep industry knowledge and extensive international experience have established me as a trusted leader in recruitment.
Beyond recruitment, I serve as the Regional Advisor for The Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) in Australia and New Zealand, reflecting my commitment to promoting excellence within the security and risk sectors.
In early 2024, I broadened my influence by launching my YouTube channel, where I share valuable insights on recruitment trends, practical advice for job seekers, and engaging content about cybersecurity. This platform extends my mission of empowering individuals in their career success.
In January 2025, I founded Luke Gough Coaching and Consulting, specialising in career coaching tailored for job seekers, career changers, and professionals looking to advance in their careers, helping them to achieve their professional potential.
